Founded by Morris J. Dedicated to offering homeowners in Atlanta more in-town housing options and more in the way of an active and enjoyable urban lifestyle, Morris J. Kaplan Communities is also committed to utilizing creative “outside-of-the-box” construction techniques that result in highly affordable urban homes.

With 30 years of residential experience starting with Kaplan Companies in New Jersey, and more than 10,000 homes to his credit in both the northeastern and southeastern United States, Morris J. Kaplan is responsible for the success of 450 Piedmont, the first private residential community to be developed in downtown Atlanta in 30 years. His company is also well recognized for such successful urban communities in Atlanta as 375 Highlands and the Waterford on Piedmont.

These last two projects, 375 Highlands and The Waterford high rise, were the first projects that Morris Kaplan teamed up with local program management firm Brek Management, Inc. Brek Management was founded by Richard Pease in 1997 to provide quality project controls to developers of real estate assets, in the retail and multi-family markets. Brek Management has been involved in the in town apartment and condominium markets since their beginning, with notable projects such as The Dakota, Metropolis, and The Waterford.

Richard Pease has been an in town resident of Atlanta for almost thirty (30) years with an active involvement in the community. This commitment has carried over into the Brek Management investment as an equity partner and developer with Morris Kaplan. They are currently finishing 63 town homes in the Grant Park area and have now invested in this current revitalization of the Lindbergh area with Cosmopolitan at Lindbergh. The Cosmopolitan exhibits many qualities of new urbanism coupled with more timeless, traditional architecture, to create a special neighborhood feel in the emerging renaissance taking place in the Lindbergh area.
